Knight, the CEO of fashion and athletics conglomerate Nike, was sure to supply his alma mater Ducks with a sleek set of new outfits. However, new and typically eye opening as most expected from Nike’s designers, the uni’s look relatively similar to the Ducks typical away uniforms.
A close look gives way to the Ducks their 13th different jersey combination in the 13th game of the year. The carbon helmets (best in football), resemble those worn against Oregon State in the last game, except for the jungle frog lime/yellow representing the Ducks O logo. The helmets also come fitted with WTD “win the day” and FAST-HARD-FINISH, down the center line.
That same intense yellow can be seen highlighting the Ducks numbers, cleats and high socks, the new addition to the original white-on-white away’s. New gloves were also fitted for the game.
The jerseys have flash, but fit somewhere between the classiness of Joe Pa on the sidelines and John Daly’s animated pants roaming the greens, cigar included.
One has to wonder though, what were the Oregon colors again? It seems that can be answered with anything from black and grey to an off the color scheme charts yellow.
If the National Championship game turns ugly for the Ducks, at least they showed up best dressed for their red carpet walk. That’s expected from Nike U, though. It’s rumored, however, that Under Armor has responded with a sleek new pair of cleats for Auburn.
There are 26 more days until the two square off. A little off the field build up battle of fashion never hurt. But this is football.

Hello friends,
Oregon has survived the always tough civil war, beating rival oregon State 37-20 and clearing the path to a possible national championship. Thanks!
