Jadaveon Clowney – Rock Hill (S.C.)
Scout: #1 DE – Rivals: #1 DE – ESPN:
Finalist: South Carolina, Alabama, Clemson
Clowney has been the consensus No. 1 prospect in the 2011 class throughout the recruiting process. It would be considered a huge loss for Spurrier and the Gamecocks if Clowney went out of state. His decision may not come until his birthday Feb. 14, though. Alabama and South Carolina seem to be the clear favorites.
Cyrus Kouandjio – Hyattsville (MD)
Scout: #1 OT – Rivals: #1 OT – ESPN: #1 OT
Finalist: Alabama, Auburn, New Mexico, Iowa
Kouandjio is an impressive and dominating prospect and would give instant help to whichever school he decides on. He’s taken official visits to all three of his finalist, with the last being Auburn. Alabama may be hard to beat, especially with his brother, a 2010 offensive line commit, currently playing for 'Bama. Announcement: Noon ET, Feb. 2
Isaiah Crowell – Columbus (GA)
Scout: #1 RB – Rivals: #4 RB – ESPN: #1 RB
Finalist: Georgia, Alabama, Auburn
Crowell has kept pretty silent about where he’ll be playing his college ball, but that may just be a sign of staying close to home. The Georgia backfield obviously needs help, while the Tide backfield remains plentifully loaded. Announcement: 1:30 PM, ET, Feb. 2
Curtis Grant – Richmond (VA)
Scout: #1 OLB – Rivals: #1 ILB – ESPN: #3 ILB
Finalist: Florida, North Carolina, Ohio State, Virginia
Grant is far alone at the top when the talk of the nation’s best linebacker comes up. He’s taken visits to all four of his finalist, with UNC being the latest. Part of me thinks Grant will be a Tar Heel, but with the depth concerns and chance to play early at Ohio State, the Buckeyes may get Grant’s talents. Announcement: 1:30 PM, ET, Feb. 2
Tim Jernigan – Lake City (FL)
Scout: #4 DT – Rivals: #2 DT – ESPN: #2 DT
Finalist: Florida, Florida State, LSU, Tennessee
Jernigan has been hard to predict throughout the recruiting process. He’s done a nice job keeping his thoughts to himself, while taking just two official visits to FSU and Tennessee. He’s been high on Florida, even without an official, but the coaching change may have been a turn off. FSU may get another big catch from their backyard. Announcement: Feb. 2
Tony Steward – Saint Augustine (FL)
Scout: #3 ILB – Rivals: #1 OLB – ESPN: #1 ILB
Finalist: Clemson, Florida State
Nearly every expert expects Steward to announce he’ll be attending FSU, adding to the already stacked Seminole class. He loved both visits to Clemson and Florida State, but I think with the already talent laden class FSU has pulled together, Clemson steals one from the Seminoles, bringing in a Signing Day shocker. Announcement: 10:00 AM, ET Feb. 2
Stephone Anthony – Wadesboro (N.C.)
Scout: #2 OLB – Rivals: #3 OLB – ESPN: #1 OLB
Finalist: Clemson, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia Tech
Anthony has long been considered a Clemson lean, but don't ruled out Virginia Tech. The Hokies have been on Anthony hard over the end of his recruiting process. Anthony’s cousin, Barquell Rivers, is currently a starting linebacker for the Hokies, as well. Announcement: 11:30 AM, ET, Feb. 2
Nickolas Brassell – Batesville (MS)
Scout: #7 WR – Rivals: #7 WR – ESPN: #29 WR
Finalist: Alabama, Ole Miss
Brassell has already nearly been written in as an Ole Miss commitment. The home state school was described by Brassell as “like I’m at home,” while on his recruiting visit. It would be a shocker if Brassell decided on the Tide or elsewhere. Announcement: Feb. 2
Jacoby Brissett – Palm Beach (FL)
Scout: #9 QB – Rivals: #3 Duel Threat QB – ESPN: #25 QB
Finalist: Miami (Fla.), Wisconsin
Brissett is one of the lone top quarterback prospects still unannounced. The Badgers have been on him the longest, while Miami came in late when the new coaching staff was brought in. Staying in state may be the deciding factor, though, and because of that, Brissett will most likely take his talents to South Beach. Announcement: Maybe Feb. 2, he may hold off until Friday basketball game.
Marquise Lee – Gardena (CA)
Scout: #3 S – Rivals: #3 ATH – ESPN: #14 ATH
Finalist: California, Miami (Fla.), Oregon, USC
The decision for Lee may come down to playing time and distance from home. USC makes the most sense for his talents, but don’t count Miami out of the equation. The Hurricanes have been hard after Lee in the last month, and he enjoyed his recent official visit to Coral Gables. Announcement: Feb. 2
Delvon Simmons – McKeesport (PA)
Scout: #3 DT – Rivals: #5 DT – ESPN: #25 DT
Finalist: Oregon, Pittsburgh, Texas Tech, UNC
Simmons took three official visits early in the process, but this last weekend took an official to USC. That doesn’t mean he’s heading to the Trojans, but it strikes interesting conversation. The Ducks seem to be the team to beat in the end, however. Tech is a darkhorse. Announcement: 11:20 AM, ET, Feb. 2
Jalen Grimble – Las Vegas (NV)
Scout: #7 DT – Rivals: #20 DE – ESPN: #25 DE
Finalist: USC, Miami (Fla.), Nebraska, UCLA
Grimble is the cousin of last year’s No. 1 tight end recruit and USC commit, Xavier Grimble, but that doesn’t mean the Trojans are the favorite. Jalen was a longtime commitment of the Trojans but opened things up after he was told he may play offense and after he took a visit to Miami two weeks ago. The ‘Canes are rumored the heavy lean. Announcement: Feb. 2
Marquise Wright – Paramus (N.J.)
Scout: #17 DT – Rivals: #14 DT – ESPN: #31 DT
Finalist: Michigan State, Rutgers
Two factors are weighting into Wright’s decision. He likes the Michigan State campus and East Lansing. But he also likes how close Rutgers is to his hometown. The deciding factor may be the distance. Wright should end up with the Scarlet Knights, where most experts have expected him to go. Announcement: 1:00 PM, ET, Feb. 2
